Job Description

The Campus Ambassador Supervisor serves as the leader for all Campus Ambassador (CA) staff in the Parking and Transit Department. This position works to raise awareness of Campus Ambassador program and to establish a consistent presence of CA staff across the university. A valued candidate will have a passion for service and building and growing relationships amongst staff and campus community. The Campus Ambassador Supervisor works towards building a consistent, approachable, and reliable ambassador workforce, and promotes a healthy an effective work team.

 

Salary Range

$41,000 - $47,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

·       Hire, maintain full staffing levels to include Part-Time (PTE's) and Full-Time (FTE’s) employees.

·       Monitor staffing levels for possible increases and decreases as required.

·       Conduct briefing at beginning of Campus Ambassador's shift. 

·       Supervise assigned employees’ schedules, both in term of start and end time and the number of hours worked each day/week.

·       Confirm that the employee’s hours are reported into the system on time. Verify that the hours are entered on time and are reflective of the actual hours worked/not worked, and that the appropriate form has been completed, approved/not-approved and communicated in PeopleSoft within the comment section. 

·       Develops and independently implements new or revised program goals and objectives.

·       Evaluates program effectiveness to develop and implement improved methods; devises evaluation methodology and implements; analyzes results and takes proper action based on outcome.

·       Evaluate time off requests to ensure office coverage for maximum customer service levels (regular versus peak times).

·       Ensure all staff has tools to perform their job such as supplies, equipment, policy/procedures, guidelines, uniform. 

·       Develops policies and procedures used in areas under supervision; obtains management approval when appropriate.

·       Trains new personnel and/or provides training materials and leadership to others for training. 

·       Provide technical knowledge to staff, faculty, students and visitors utilizing departmental guidelines and judgment, while promoting excellent customer service.

·       programs. Attend various meetings on an annual basis to facilitate partnerships (e.g. ASU Police Department, Student Rights & Responsibilities, Office of the V.P….) and gain better understanding of issues/needs of other departments. 

·       Respond with solutions to assist with resolution of problems, keeping in mind both University and Department policies and service missions.

·       Report maintenance issues (e.g. broken signs, broken glass, excessive trash, relocations, missing signs, and damaged poles) to PTS Dispatch upon discovery. Follow up communication with an e-mail to your supervisor to ensure maintenance issue is reported. In addition, photograph those issues and forward photos to your supervisor.

·       Investigates and responds to complaints regarding enforcement operations and report’s findings to their supervisor. 

·       Update the Training Manual as needed with your supervisor. Changes in policy and procedures by management will require updating as needed to the Field Service Guide electronic version of the manual. At the very least, this will be completed on a fiscal year July 1st basis. 

·       CA Supervisor may issue citations including warnings throughout the day. 

·       The CA Supervisor, at times, will make decisions regarding the legitimacy of WOZ violations and Bike Impounds.

·       Drives Arizona State University leased, owned or rented vehicles and carts to various ASU locations to perform work.

·       Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field and two (2) years customer service/operations experience which includes one (1) year of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

·       Evidence Bachelor's degree.

·       Evidence of two years supervisory experience in customer service.

·       Experience in leading and motivating a large team.

 

Working Environment

·       Work in an outdoor environment most of the time, standing and walking for extended periods of time in all weather conditions (heat, rain, wind) and frequently bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 75 pounds.

·       Required to use a two-way radio for communication.

·       Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

·       Will use office equipment when not in the field.

·       At times, will operate an ASU vehicle, getting in and out of the vehicle.

·       Scheduled work area subject to change depending on program needs.

·       Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
