    Term: See Duty Day Calendar (This is a part-time 25 hours per week position.)

    Position Summary:
    The Campus Community Relations Liaison assists the administration in the attendance and drop-out prevention of students through communication between the school and the community. This position will work to increase and improve parent, family and community engagement in the education of children and coordinate parent, student and teacher programs that assist in building a bridge between school and parents and or/guardians.

    Essential Functions:
    • Assists the administration in the attendance and drop-out prevention of students
    • Develops and maintains a two-way communications link between the school, community and parents/guardians
    • Provides information regarding resources or programs in the school or community that may assist the student in being successful in school
    • Provides/gathers information from the community that will assist the school in better meeting the needs of the student and/or their parents/guardians
    • Provides home visits with students, parents/guardians using own transportation.
    • Serves as a liaison between parents, tribal officials, schools and elected officials
    • Plan, implement and oversee parent family/activities, training and programs to improve student academic achievement and parent involvement
    • Provide positive reinforcement to acknowledge student's growth
    • Collect required federal forms on school sites through home visits
    • May assist school personnel in identifying students in need of supportive or special services
    • May assist parents in the completion of forms, questionnaires and other necessary documents to enroll students
    • May coordinate and maintain community outreach projects/resources by participating and acting as lead on assigned committees
    • May act as a liaison between social service agencies, district and parents
    • Maintain Accurate records for compliance with District and federal guidelines
    • Maintain records, calendar and contact log to account for time and services
    • Attend school liaison meetings with other district school liaisons
    • Attend Mandatory Parent meetings held quarterly, conferences and workshops
    • Ensures that all work is completed in accordance with District policy and applicable state and federal laws
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    Training and Experience:
    • A minimum of (1) year working in a culturally diverse setting with parents/families and community members
    • Experience working with Native American communities preferred (Section 9114 (c) (2) of Part A, Title IX)
    • High School Diploma
    • Excellent communication skills (oral/written)
    • Accounting/bookkeeping experience
    • Experience working with high school age students preferred
    • Previous experience in a similar position preferred.
    Knowledge of:
    • Knowledge of culturally diverse population
    • Knowledge of community agencies available for referral
    • Knowledge of Native American communities and resources
    • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment with diverse population students, staff and parents
    • General office equipment.
    Skill In:
    • Well-organized; multi-tasking.
    • Possessing excellent verbal and written communication; maintaining rapport and composure with parents, students, staff, and the general public.
    ADA and Other Requirements:
    Positions in this class typically require: climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

    Sedentary Work: Exerting up to10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
