The CIP Division team within Public Works is an experienced team that delivers a wide range of services, including engineering design and construction management of a variety of public works capital improvement project including roadways, bridges, facilities, airport, water, and water reclamation projects and performs related work as assigned.

Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a CIP Engineering Division Manager to perform responsible program management duties associated with day-to-day operations of the Capital Improvement Program. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in having a direct impact on the Town's capital improvements projects.

Hiring Range: $78,146 - $100,878

Examples of Duties

  • Provides leadership and development to assigned staff; establishes team goals and objectives of the functional area(s);
  • Participates in the recruitment process, ensures adequate staffing levels, evaluates work performance, ensures policy and procedure compliance, and provides guidance in employee relations matters.
  • Responsible for project delivery of the Town of Maranas 5-year Capital Improvement Program by scoping, preparing cost estimates, reviewing project submittals, coordinating with other departments for completeness, and ensuring constructability.
  • Performs planning and programming and oversees the design and construction of a variety of CIP projects including plan reviews, project designs, managing consultant contracts and specifications, preparing cost estimates, and coordinating reviews with other departments.
  • Represents the Town at regional meetings, public meetings, and professional functions.
  • Monitors division budget, requests, programs/projects, and expenditures.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture or a closely related field.
  • Over five years of progressively responsible management experience in civil engineering or architecture and project management or closely related field.
  • Over three years of experience supervising technical staff
  • Current registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in Arizona or a Registered Architect in Arizona
  • Valid Arizona Driver License
  • Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Experience in managing and overseeing a variety of CIP projects including roadway, bridge, facilities, airport, water, and water reclamation projects
