Position Titles: Cardiovascular Technician Department: Imaging Wage Range: $18.50- $29.05 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position reports to: Office Manager

Summary:

Performs various professional and administrative duties related to exercise stress testing, nuclear medicine stress testing, and pharmacologic stress testing. The cardiovascular technician is also responsible for patient education, patient preparation, patient assessment, obtaining informed consent, ECG lead placement, administration of exercise and pharmacological stress test per protocols, interpretation of vital signs and heart rhythms, applications of BLS measures to patients, collaboration with other technicians, nuclear technologies, supervisors, and providers to ensure patient safety at all times.

Position Responsibilities:

? Assists physicians with diagnostic cardiology tests and monitors cardiovascular data during

procedures. ? Works with cardiac medications, rhythm, oxygen tanks, nuclear and regular stress testing. ? Prepares proper lead placement on patient for ekg interpretation. ? Explains procedures to patients, gets medical history and selects appropriate equipment settings. ? Properly documents patient vitals and symptoms during and after stress testing. ? Maintains a neat and professional work environment. ? Additional duties as assigned, ? Some travel is required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

? Must be reliable, have mechanical aptitude, and be able to follow detailed instructions. ? Ability to act quickly and remain calm in stressful and emergency situations, ? Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision

in a fast-paced environment. ? CVT or CCT certified. ? BLS certified. ? MA certified or 2 years continuous clinical experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

? While performing duties of the job, employees are required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and

fingers; talk and hear. ? Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs. ? Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to

adjust focus.
