About ORMC:

Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Womens and Childrens Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.

Under the direction of the CFO, the Director of Case Management is responsible for ongoing review activities related to the utilization of resources within the hospital and for the provision of a Case Management Plan.

About the Position:

Ability to work competently with computer based charting and other clinical and non-clinical software programs, Adaptability to change, good organizational skills, read and communicate effectively in English, working knowledge of criteria and understand insurance companies and coverage details. Possess a thorough knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed care utilization review requirements. Must be familiar with federal, state and accreditation standards as they relate to case & utilization management. Ability to advocate for patients, operate office equipment, Have critical thinking skills, ability to work what is sometimes a stressful, fast paced environment and ability to lead and teach others. Effectively interact with insurance companies and communities healthcare recourses. Other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • RN current license to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
  • One to three years experience in Case Management preferred.
  • Experienced in utilizing severity of illness/intensity of service criteria preferred.
  • Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document.
