The Salvation Army is looking to fill a Case Worker position in the Family Services division. The successful candidate will be an outgoing, highly motivated individual dedicated to making a difference in their community.

The Case Worker for Operation Home will collaborate with Clark County Social Services Landlord Engagement and Property Services staff to identify suitable housing for each client. This position will work with Case Managers to provide post-placement conflict resolution and mediation services for clients and landlords. They will conduct interviews, assess immediate and long-term needs, and assist the case manager in developing case plans. The Case Worker will write accurate and concise case notes and prepare and submit required reports to Operation Home program manager in a timely manner. The CW will lead and teach classes relating to budgeting, banking and other life skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred
  • One (1) year case work or related experience
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Knowledge of criteria for food, rent, and utility assistance and the processes to enroll participants
  • Ability to access at risk participants and situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and file management skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage time
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances
  • Ability to work flexible days and hours, including weekends
  • Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check
