Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine and HealthSciences Center is seeking a full scope nurse-midwife that will contributeactively to the climate of diversity and inclusivity. We invite applications foran Open Rank position in Midwifery. UNM Obstetrics and Gynecologys MidwiferyDivision has a busy clinical practice and is active in education.

We are a large midwifery group practice that provides full scopemidwifery care within the University of New Mexico Health System. We are groupof diverse and dedicated midwives who are passionate about patient care,advocacy, health system improvement, and education of the next generation ofclinicians. This is a full time clinical position within an academic systemwhich includes clinical teaching of a variety of learners but is not a didacticteaching position. Our role as faculty within the School of Medicine providesmany opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration & professionalgrowth based on your interests. New Mexico offers autonomous midwiferypractice, beautiful high desert outdoor adventures, and sunny weather almostevery day.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Masters degree (MSN)
  • Participation in the Certificate Maintenance Program with the American Midwifery Certification Board (or eligible).
  • CNM license with New Mexico Department of Health (or eligible).
  • RN license with New Mexico Board of Nursing (or eligible).
  • State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification and federal DEA registration (or eligible).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience teaching adult learners
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Interest in participating in clinical research
  • At least one year clinical experience working in academic medical center
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
