Certified Nurse Assistant Position

Summary: Provides direct and indirect basic nursing care within the Certified Nursing Assistant's scope of practice under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Likely interaction with Patients, patient's families, nurses, physicians, other clinical and non-clinical staff, and visitors. Committee and meeting participation may include Unit Staff Meetings; other participation as appropriate and required. Demonstrates support of the Medical Center's mission, values and vision in all actions and interactions with employees, patients, medical staff, guests, and visitors. Provides basic nursing care to patients within the Certified Nursing Assistant's scope of practice including actions that meet their psychosocial, age specific and physical needs. Demonstrates knowledge of basic disease entitiesAssists and provides for all activities of daily living. Completes documentation, which reflects current nursing standards, policies and procedures. Assists physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills within the CNA scope of practice. Manages and operates unit equipment safely and correctlyAssists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurseDemonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and MVMC's policies and procedures supporting standards of care Communications. Demonstrates positive oral and written communication skillsCommunicates, in a timely manner, to supervising nurse any patient's needs, concerns, questions, data collection information or observed changes in patient's status and responses. Communicates appropriately with patients, their guests, and visitors. Communicates and collaborates with other health care team members to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient's needs and ensure a positive environmentInteracts with a high level of professionalism, respect and dignity. Position Summary:

  • Highest level of education, minimum HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • RequiredLicensed CNA in the State of Arizona
  • BCLS Certification required
  • Ability to work effectively with computer based charting and other clinical software programs
  • Adaptability to change, organizational skills
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
