Aegis Homecare and Aegis Hospice are currently seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) that has a passion in providing outstanding services to an elderly community. Responsibilities Include:

  • Follow the care plan of the Occupational Therapist to assist in the differential diagnosis of the client and thier needs.
  • Care for a variety of patients and follow proper treatment depending on the degree of impairment of relevant aspects such as muscle strength, motor development, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
  • Development of documents and following a plan of care to meet the clients needs with the collaboration of the Occupational Therapist, client, family, case manager and referring physician.
  • Provides instruction/therapeutic exercises to clients and family members to facilitate self care within the limits of clients abilities.
  • Provides instruction to the client and his family under physician orders and on an intermittent basis.
  • Provides instruction regarding the plan of care to the client, the family, the home health aide or other therapists involved in the provision of care to the client.
  • Other duties as needed.


  • Current COTA license in the State of Arizona
  • Must have graduated from an approved Occupational therapy program
  • Valid Arizona drivers license.
  • Current vehicle insurance.
  • Current CPR
  • Excellent skills in patient care provision
  • Must be willing to drive and provide care in the clients places of residence.
  • Must be good in documentation of care according to company standards and state and federal guidelines.
  • Writing must be legible.
  • Must be an excellent communicator
  • Must work well with other team members.
  • Must have no health restrictions that impede provision of care to clients; must be able to stoop, bend and lift up to 50 lbs., and have no restrictions preventing physical work.
  • Must not have any restrictions for physical work for which reasonable accommodation cannot be made.
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Experience in the Home Health setting
  • Must be willing to travel between patients locations throughout the east valley
  • Ability to work independently
  • Needs to have knowledge of the needs of the elderly, extensive experience in physical therapy clients in home health care provision, and excellent clinical skills. Must be able to think independently and have an awareness of community resources. Should have good organizational and communication skills, as well.
