    FLSA STATUS: Exempt WORK CALENDAR: 213

    COMPENSATION: District-Based Professional Support (Starting $74,374)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Diagnoses and identifies students with articulation, voice, fluency (stuttering) and/or receptive/expressive language delays and disorders using standardized, norm referenced test instruments to include determining type and severity of disorder

    2. Develops speech and language treatment plans to include determining goals, objectives, methods, materials, frequency, duration, and accommodations/modifications to regular classroom, and transitions

    3. Designs, implements, and develops activities and original instructional aids which are relevant, enhance the effectiveness of teaching, address treatment plans and activities, and make group and individual behavior plans

    4. Consults with and provides ideas to teachers and parents regarding speech and language development and disorders to include developing an appropriate individual education plan for the student that meets his/her needs

    5. Provides direct therapy and instruction to students or groups to assist them to succeed on academic and social skills; to review and revise student progress goals; to communicate with teachers and parents

    6. Provides speech language pathology assistant(s) with appropriate direction, information, supervision, and evaluation

    7. Prepares and maintains data, materials, and relevant information following state and federal guidelines; prepares or assists in the preparation of all required reports

    8. Instructs and provides guidance and timelines for speech language pathology assistant(s) to complete paperwork in a correct and timely manner

    9. Reviews and verifies speech language pathology assistant(s) daily and progress reports

    10. Develops a variety of teaching and instructional strategies by maintaining current knowledge of standards and current practices in the field by consulting with books, colleagues, and conferences; contributes to the professional growth of staff

    11. Provides students, teachers, parents and SLPSs with the support or knowledge of available assistive technology and communication devices for student use; trains students, parents and staff in their use

    12. Submits Medicaid billing as directed

    13. Provide support to other department staff as requested

    14. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    15. Ability to work independently and be a self starter

    16. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner

    17. Maintain punctual and regular attendance

    18. Performs other related duties as assigned



    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    Education / Certificate
    1. Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology

    2. Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry):

    Arizona State Speech Pathologist Certification

    Certificate of Clinical Competence

    AHCCCS number to submit Medicaid billing (within four weeks of hire).

    3. CPR, AED and Basic First Aid Certification Card

    4. Current and valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Experience

    1. Exhibits integrity in applying the ethics and standards of professional practice in the delivery of school services, including honoring confidentiality

    2. Ability to explain the educational needs of students in terms that can be easily understood by parents and other appropriate personnel

    3. Ability to work effectively with students

    4. Ability to maintain clear communications with administration, staff, parents, and students as a member of various school teams

    Communication Skills

    1.Strong writing, literacy, and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to interact with a variety of audiences

    2. Bilingual communication is beneficial

    Computer Skills

    1. Knowledge of Google Suite

    2. Technical experience with Excel and PowerPoint
