Responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and overall operational management of physician services and medical staff administration and quality department oversight and direction at both St. Thomas More and St. Mary Corwin Hospitals.

This role has dual reporting requirements, as the CMO reports to the Chief Executive Officer of each respective entity. The CMO will be expected to develop strategic plans, policies and address operational issues that build effective relationships between the hospital and its Medical Staff using the principles of Just Culture and High Reliability organizations in order to produce excellence in clinical outcomes.

This role will partner with the Chief Nursing Officer of each hospital to provide effective multidisciplinary approaches to clinical outcome management and environments of quality and safety.

Additional responsibilities include establishing and implementing standards and policies within each hospital and across hospitals to ensure quality of medical care, focusing on establishing best practice, eliminating barriers to doing what is right and ensuring our standards in quality behavior and compassion are always our focus and ever improving.

This role works closely with the Group Chief Medical Officer and Centura CME to meet Centura operating group and system-wide strategies, goals, objectives and standards. Serves as the primary community resource to all hospital communities and provides advice and counsel to Centura administrators on medical and administration matters related to medical practice and current affairs.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Doctorate Required
  • Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state Required
  • Five years' experience in delivery of physician services and medical staff administration with proven success in progressive responsibility in healthcare leadership
  • Medical staff relations, quality measurement credentialing and previou smedical management experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, managed care and health policy is essential with proven success in effective integration of medical management
  • Board certified in an approved clinical specialty required while in clinical practices

This position may be eligible for a Sign-on Bonus and/or Relocation Bonus.
