    JOB TITLE:
    Child Nutrition Assistant Senior

    JOB GOAL:
    The Child Nutrition Assistant Senior is responsible to keep accurate free and reduced data, reconciliation of cash drawers and assists in other areas such as preparation, serving and clean-up as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Current Food Handlers Certificate
    2. Previous experience handling money desired
    3. Ability to make change rapidly and accurately
    4. Ability to keep accurate records
    5. Ability to operate computerized cash register and
    6. Ability to operate institutional equipment
    7. Knowledge of HACCP, and workplace safety requirements
    8. Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
    9. Ability to work with figures and to make arithmetic calculations
    10. Ability to communicate with parents, staff and students on Child Nutrition program
    11. Must be able to read, write and speak English
    12. High School diploma or GED preferred
    13. Knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules
    14. Must pass fingerprint and background check

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 days (9 Months)
    COMPENSATION: $15.66 - $18.48
    BENEFITS: As per District policy
    REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager
    HOURS: 30 hours
    CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    1. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and the community.
    2. Collects and accounts for register sales.
    3. Maintains appropriate change fund for registers.
    4. Performs cashiering and end of day procedures.
    5. Monitors lunch/breakfast sales to ensure guidelines/federal regulations are met.
    6. Ensures product quality by visual inspection to maintain customer satisfaction.
    7. May be required to place orders, schedule or perform inventory.
    8. Assists manager in reviewing free and reduced-price meal applications and keep accurate and up to date records of the required information.
    9. Assists in keeping student status in the computer system accurate.
    10. Assists in training new employees and students on cashiering procedures and guidelines.
    11. Displays and demonstrates knowledge of HACCP food safety/sanitation guidelines.
    12. Assists with the daily cleaning of all kitchen and equipment to ensure cleanliness and to ensure sanitary conditions are met.
    13. Assists in food preparation and clean up.
    14. Assists with stocking and replenishing of supplies.
    15. May be assigned manager duties when a manager is absent.
    16. Performs all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed.
    17. Perform other duties as assigned.
