Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a Civil Engineer to work in the Development Services Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in having a direct impact on the private development projects for a fast growing community. The ideal candidate will conduct technical engineering reviews for private development projects.

Expected Hiring Range: $79,709 - $99,635
Salary Range: $79,709 - $119,562

  • placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget

Examples of Duties

  • Manages and directs the day-to-day duties of the Engineering Specialists (3) positions.
  • Reviews design documents including construction drawings, plats, technical reports, residential and commercial grading permits, , geometric designs for compliance with engineering standards, street standards and town land development code for town and developer projects.
  • Impact fee analysis and calculations
  • Reviews and administers development assurances and the development closeout process.
  • Performs project management on minor projects, prepares cost estimates, and management of the Towns way finder program.
  • Reviews engineering documents associated with development and develops related standards such as guidance or procedural manuals and code
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • Over three years experience in engineering, development services, or closely related field
  • Professional Civil Engineer license, or the ability to obtain within 18 months of hire date.
  • Over one year of supervisory experience or must complete the Town of Marana's supervisory academy within one year of hire date.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License
  • Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check
