Classroom Assistant
We are currently hiring experienced Teacher Assistants and Classroom Assistants to work in elementary school settings in resource, preschool and ED programs. These positions will start August 6th and will be long term, Monday- Friday openings with set hours of 7-2:30p; 7:45-3:15p; 8:30-4p or 8-3:30pm depending on program.
TAs with experience working with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities are urged to apply online for immediate consideration. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 1 year recent experience working with children in educational or behavioral health settings. Must have current CPR & First Aid card and fingerprint clearance card.
Qualified candidates must be compassionate, dependable and patient. Must be able to make long term commitment for these 2020/2021 school year placements.
Job Duties Include:
- Implement lesson plan
- Assist students with classroom and homework assignments
- Distribute classroom material including homework and other print offs
- Complete approved daily therapies as noted in IEP plans and instructed by teacher
- Must be able to follow teacher instructions and behavioral plans/ recommendations
- May be required to use therapeutic hold as necessary
- Maintain notes and charting to document student progress and behavioral data as required
- Participate and collaborate in afterschool meetings pertaining to students wellbeing and lesson/behavioral plans as requested
- Assist teacher in maintaining a clean and organized classroom
