Description

Disk Replacement Center located on the Jordan Valley Medical Center campus. Clinic Coordinator, coordinates processing and care provided to patients, maintains patients chart, and follow up, arranges lab or diagnostic/clinical tests or treatments, schedules and coordinate hospital admissions and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates training of staff and develops their skills in office procedures, understanding EMR, divides workload effectively. Ensures staff is properly and thoroughly trained
  • Assists Practice Manager with DHS preparedness and survey readiness
  • Serves as the superuser for EMR in practice: point of contact for questions and issues for practice providers and staff, supports newly hired practice providers and staff.
  • Works with EMR support team to educate end users regarding upgraded functionality and changes in standard work flows or best practices
  • Attends superuser training and additional training as required for continued competency on EMR functionality
  • Monitors back office staffs compliance with DHS regulations: Environment of Care, Point of Care Testing, Medication Management, Infection Control, proper handling and labeling of laboratory specimens
  • Maintains essential clinical supply inventory; anticipating future scheduled patients needs, and ensures time allotted is appropriate.
  • Functions effectively and professionally in stressful situations. Able to stay on task and multi-task to effectively meet deadlines
  • Ensures appropriate staff levels in the practice to meet clinic needs. Fills in positions as needed due to absences or increased work loads
  • Coordinate patients office visit discharge and if needed assists in arranging for diagnostic tests or referral exams.
  • Performs and/or assists physician with tests/procedures available in the office per their orders and in accordance with established safety and infection control procedures.
  • Prepares all charts for next days appointments by reviewing physician notes to determined what must be available for the visit.
  • Returns phone calls from patients or physician offices in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all coding is completed properly on office and hospital superbills prior to submitting to Front Office Assistant.
  • Maintains HIPAA confidentiality at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • 3 years experience as Medical Assistant
  • Experience with electronic medical record
