Job Description
Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Womens and Childrens Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.
Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.

About the Position:
Responsible for direction of patient care in the Emergency Department. Consults with staff, physicians and the Unit Director on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department. Authority to assign self and/or other nurses to patients, based on the Charge Nurses assessment of the various patients needs, staffing needs, and nurses abilities. Assists in formulating the budget and meeting budgetary goals. Provides service to age of neonate to adult. Demonstrates understanding of suicide prevention and patient restraints for sitting assignments of 1:1 care, frequent checks and continuous observation of patients. Other duties as assigned. Regulatory Requirements:
- Current state Registered Nurse license.
- Current certification as per the Steward Certification Grid
- Three (3) years bedside nursing experience in the Emergency Department preferred.
- BSN from and accredited school of nursing preferred.
- CEN certification preferred.
