Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Director of Operations, the Clinical Director- IOP/PHP will carry the effective delivery of evidence-based clinical mental health services for children, adolescents and families on the Monterey Peninsula and its greater community by providing the clinical oversight of the IOP/PHP program. The Clinical Director- IOP/PHP (Clinical Director) will be supporting Community Hospitals strategic plan, quality commitment, and values while complying with hospital policies/procedures and applicable laws and standards.
The Clinical Director is responsible and accountable for the delivery of consistently high quality psychotherapeutic treatments of behavioral health problems in youth and families in the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization settings. The Clinical Director will be the direct supervisor for all IOP/PHP staff at Ohana. The Clinical Director will provide individual and group supervision to the clinical staff in the IOP/PHP program. The Clinical Director will develop and oversee the ongoing educational, training and assessment of licensed and pre- licensed Ohana clinicians providing IOP/PHP treatment in collaboration with the Clinical Director of the Outpatient Clinic. In partnership with clinical leadership at Ohana, the Clinical Director will ensure a level of quality and customer service that strives to exceed internal and external customer expectations.
The Clinical Director will develop and mentor a high-performing team through an overarching focus on the creation of a work environment that is rigorous, collaborative, transparent, open, consistently fair, engaging and fully committed to the dignity and well-being of our patients, their families and one another. The Clinical Director will actively foster this culture of continuous learning, curiosity, flexibility and humility alongside hard work and dedication to quality. The Clinical Director will participate in hiring new clinical psychotherapy staff for the IOP/PHP, and in selecting interns, where appropriate, who are still in their graduate study programs. They will manage the operational aspects of the employment of the IOP/PHP clinical staff and initiate personnel actions, when necessary, in accordance with Human Resource policies and organization philosophy.
Outside of managing personnel, the Clinical Director will establish and maintain effective working relationships with clinical leaders across CHOMP Departments and within Ohana. The Director will collaborate with these leaders to support the efficient and effective functioning of shared clinical programs and the collaborative care of shared patients.
Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, curiosity, high energy, humor and humility. The Clinical Director must have comfort prioritizing safety and quality of care while supporting innovation, all alongside managing the operational needs and regulatory obligations of a youth behavioral health program.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of management and leadership experience in child and adolescent behavioral healthcare is required, with robust experience in supervision and management of a clinical team. Experience in a Partial Hospital or Intensive Outpatient setting is required. Experience providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is required and experience supervising clinicians in the provision of DBT to ensure treatment fidelity is preferred. DBT certification is preferred. Strong communication skills required. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, show an attention to detail and meet stringent deadlines. Proven ability to design and deliver innovative programming required. Skilled at presenting complex information in an understandable fashion. Ability to work across disciplines to support collaboration, decision-making and effective provision of services. Non-profit experience preferred. Knowledge of California laws and regulations pertaining to pediatric behavioral healthcare is a plus. Knowledge of or experience with the local systems that also provide behavioral health services to children, adolescents and families is preferred.
Education:
Masters level degree or higher in clinical child or adolescent behavioral health (Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work) is required.
Licensure/Certification:
LMFT, LCSW or licensed PsyD or PhD required
