Shift: 40hrs ; 8a-4:30p ; full-time benefit eligible

Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) sphere of clinical practice influences patient care, nurses' competencies, nursing practice, and the development of organizational systems. The CNS demonstrates leadership by inspiring others to give compassionate, remarkable care to improve patient outcomes. In working with nurses, the CNS facilitates the development of the spirit of inquiry, critical thinking and skill synthesis and promotes nursings contribution to patient outcomes. The CNS functions in collegial relationships with physicians, nursing peers and other professionals and individuals who influence the health environment. Incorporated within each role function, the CNS is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader, and cost-effective practitioner.

  • Required Knowledge & Skills: Clinical Nurse Specialist and/or Nurse Educator Role in Hospital Setting
  • Education: MSN required or enrolled in Nursing Program
  • Experience: 3-5 years experience in the role of CNS in acute care required.
  • Certification/Licensure: Current Massachusetts RN license, Current BLS/ACLS Instructor Status. Certification in a relevant specialty preferred.
  • Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office word, power point, excel
