POSITION SUMMARY:

Has 24-hour accountability for the quality and efficiency of the Emergency departments nursing care. Responsible for maintaining staffing within the productivity standard and when variances occur he/she investigates contributing factors. Is responsible for the performance improvement planning and monitoring for the department.

  1. Licensed as a Registered Nurse accepted by the Texas State Board of Nursing to engage in professional nursing
  2. Four or more years of practice experience in a healthcare setting.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing procedures, processes, and acute care organizations
  4. Technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills are relevant to this area in order to effectively and work collaboratively with the leadership team and staff.
  5. Certification requirements as defined by the certification policy. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  6. Proficient using Microsoft Office and online applications.

PREFERRED:

  • Emergency Room Experience and ICU experience secondary
  • Bilingual or Multilingual.
  • Baccalaureate degree.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • National Certification as recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center within three years of appointment.
