In this role, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with Infectious Diseases will provide advanced clinical pharmacy services at Harris Health System. This individual will serve as a resource to the interdisciplinary team, and other pharmacists while delivering innovative practices and service delivery models that ensure cost effective and optimal medication management in the population we serve. Individual will participate in operational and clinical duties of a clinical pharmacist as assigned and required.

Multi-disciplinary rounds including clinical initiatives, direct patient care and educational/training activities will be performed. Individual will also provide education to technicians, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners. They will serve as a preceptor of pharmacy interns, technicians, and ASHP-accredited pharmacy residents.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees: PharmD

License & Certifications: Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy; If licensure by reciprocity or if new pharmacy graduate, must obtain Texas license within the first 90 days of employment. ACPE IV Sterile Certification, Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification required

Work Experience: 3 years clinical practice experience OR ASHP accredited PGY2 training or PGY1 residency program in lieu of 3 years of clinical experience

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/ Reports

Proficiencies: MS Word, P.C.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Analytical, Design, Mathematics, Medical Terms, Research, Statistical

Work Schedule: Weekends, Holidays, Flexible, Overtime, Travel, On Call
