Job Summary- Correctional Health
To provide leadership in the day to day development of efficient pharmacy operations and processes that provide excellence in patient care, patient safety, and adhere to all regulatory rules and requirements, and to do so exercising fiscal responsibility in terms of revenue generation and expenses. Dispense and distribute drugs and medicines for patients and advise them of the correct medicine, proper usage, and compliance; Advise physicians on inherent dangers of drugs and the eventual side effects and assist them in prescribing the correct doses; Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review and evaluate patient effectiveness; Monitor patients for side effects and drug interactions.

Mentor/Train pharmacy residents and interns; Coordinate/Oversee/Supervise the work performed by pharmacy residents, students, interns, and technicians to ensure that performance standards are maintained and that work is accurate and in accordance with state/federal regulations and organizational/departmental guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Bachelors degree in Pharmacy Required, PharmD Preferred
+ Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy; If licensure by reciprocity or if new pharmacy graduate, must obtain Texas license within the first 90 days of employment. General Pharmacy Practice Residency Required

Work Experience: 2 years total pharmacy experience preferred
