Job Description

Grand Canyon University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences is currently seeking a Clinical Program Coordinator. The Clinical Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) and School Counseling (SC) programs. This position reports to the Program Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all aspects associated with the CMHC and SC programs.

  • Assists in the coordination of Practicum and Internship components of the CMCH and SC programs e.g., ensuring all practicums/internships meet qualifications.

  • Attends bi-weekly Office of Field Experience meetings with multiple departments and staff.

  • Assists in generating training materials for adjunct faculty and practicum and internship evaluators.

  • Assists with CACREP accreditation and compliance issues as it relates to formal documents and self-study.

  • Supports adherence to ACA and ASCA standards and competencies.

  • Works collaboratively with other university departments involved in the CMHC and SC programs.

  • Assists with CMHC and SC Admissions Committee needs.

  • Coordinates the schedule for CMHC and SC events and space in various campus buildings for events.

  • Attends meetings and takes notes as necessary (Faculty meetings, Admissions meetings, etc.).

  • Works with various personnel to ensure the counseling website is up to date and accurate as it related to the CMCH and SC programs.

  • Assists the dean and assistant dean with specific projects, initiatives and other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in behavioral health field required AND at least one-year of experience in a behavioral health position AND dependent or independent license in a behavioral health field preferred.

  • Masters degree in Counseling AND a dependent or independent license in Counseling AND at least one-year of experience in the counseling field (preferred)

  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to successfully adapt to a ground and an e-learning environment.

  • Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, and work in an e-learning environment with students daily.

  • Must be able to work effectively, collaboratively and respectfully with individuals of diverse cultures but must also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to prioritize and recognize the need for prioritization of responsibilities.

  • Detailed oriented with good analytical skills.

  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and software databases.

  • Must be willing to train and have the capability to navigate other software (such as procurement software, and others as necessary.)

  • Ability to cope effectively under stressful situations and/or time constraints and respond to pressure in an acceptable manner.

  • Observes and subscribes to personal and company ethics and integrity.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
