Position Title: Clinical Student - Child and Family Homebased Program 2020-21

Brief Program Description:

The MHCD Homebased Program provides culturally sensitive, trauma informed and family-focused interventions, which are specifically tailored to the needs of the families and individual consumers. We provide short-term intervention services to families for a period of six months to a year with the goal of increasing stabilization to transition a child to a lower level of care. We offer three hours per week of in-home services with at least half of the services provided being family therapy.

Title and Hours required:

- Homebased Clinical Student

- A minimum of 10 hours per week (15-20 hours preferred) along with a 9-12 month commitment. The placement follows the academic year and begins in the Fall (August or September).

Minimum Qualifications and # of openings:

-2nd Year Masters or Doctoral Students in Psychology, Social Work, Family Therapy, or other related human services field with an emphasis on clinical work.

Student Supervisors Credential Level:

- 1 LCSW Supervisor

- 1 LCSW Program Manager

Duties of Placement and Miscellaneous Information:

Following an initial period of training and shadowing opportunities, the student will ultimately participate in all core clinical services offered through our Homebased Program. These duties will be tailored to the developmental level and training interests of individual students and may include initial assessment and diagnosis, individual therapy, family therapy, case management, and psychoeducation. The student will participate in a minimum of 1 hour of weekly individual supervision while also having the opportunity to participate in additional small group supervisions, case consultations, internal agency trainings, and team meetings.
