Cloud Architecture is a critical driver of this transformation, enabling cloud-based application architectures, data management capabilities, and integration strategies that ensure seamless connections between hybrid cloud and on-premises based applications.
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Cloud Technical Architect to collaborate with other architects to design and implement robust, efficient, highly scalable, and cost-effective cloud-based solutions. This key role will partner closely with teammates, architects, and DevSecOps engineers to elevate our cloud maturity while collaboratively supporting the operations of our Agile development teams.
Responsibilities:
* Participate in architectural design meetings in support of key IT and Digital capabilities
* Contribute ideas that leverage past development and solutions architecture experience
* Develop and implement governance policies around cloud infrastructure and data security initiatives
* Implementing and controlling the flow of data to and from cloud
* Selecting the appropriate cloud service based on compute, data, budget, and security requirements
* Identifying appropriate use of cloud-based operational best practices
* Ensure that costs are managed and inline with a tight budget
* Estimating usage costs, identifying operational cost control mechanisms, and driving cost-efficiencies
* Constructing and editing architectural diagrams that accurately reflect solution design
* Deploying, managing, automating, operating, and securing scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems in a hybrid cloud environment
Desired Experience/Education:
* Demonstrable recent experience as a technical architect
* 6+ years of experience developing cloud-based applications
* Strong technical knowledge of PaaS, IaaS service models
* Strong understanding of architectural design patterns, concepts, and best practices
* Experience with Service Fabric and Containers
* Experience with Event Driven Architecture, SOA, Microservices and Serverless Computing
* Expert level understanding of modern object-oriented programming languages
* PowerShell/Bash with knowledge of IaC technologies including ARM templates and Terraform
* Understanding of application scaling to support increases in traffic
* Recent experience in a collaborative Agile working environment (Scrum preferred)
* Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD)
* Experience in provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running in the cloud
* Must be able to work on multiple projects and consistently meet project deadlines
Other Desired Skills / Certifications:
* Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred) or MCSD Azure Solutions Developer
* Experience with CMS platforms, E-Commerce, and digital payments
* Familiarity with Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB and Data Lake (Gen 2 Storage)
* Experience in Windows / Linux Virtualization environments, Networking
* Experience with Visual Studio, GIT and ServiceNow
* Interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport and communicate effectively at all levels and across disciplines
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Detail-oriented, strong work ethic and high standard of excellence
