    CLASSIFICATION: Child Nutrition Services Classified Hourly Salary Schedule

    REPORTS TO: CNS Supervisor

    SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Services Supervisor, the warehouse clerk will provide formal receipting activities for child nutrition services, will provide proper storage of perishable foods, and will make timely delivery of foods and supplies.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Provide formal receipt of food and materials deliveries, including verification of invoices using methods according to guidelines established by Maricopa County Department of Environmental Quality (Health Department), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
    2. Provide proper storage of foods as directed.
    3. Monitor and maintain records of temperatures of departmental refrigerator and freezer temperatures, and record and report need for repairs.
    4. Maintain records of pest inspections.
    5. Make routine and timely delivery of requested food service products and supplies from the distribution center to school sites.
    6. Make routine and timely delivery of items from the production kitchens to school sites, administrative center, and catering locations.
    7. Make non-routine special deliveries.
    8. Operate computerized inventory and ordering systems in the absence of the Child Nutrition Services Warehouse Manager.
    9. Assemble food service equipment.
    10. Maintain and clean the delivery vehicle by cleaning the inside and outside, replenishing with oil, gas, and water, and check tires.
    11. Request maintenance for delivery vehicles including noting needs for repair.
    12. Maintain and clean the warehouse and dock area.
    13. Deliver items including department mail, to and from schools and the administrative center.
    14. Train and instruct substitute warehouse workers or trainees.
    15. Attend in-service meetings.
    16. Perform other job-related duties as directed.

    EDUCATION:
    • High school diploma or equivalency.

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Maricopa County Food Handlers Card.
    • Arizona Class D drivers license or Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with good driving record.

    EXPERIENCE:
    • Previous warehouse and/or delivery experience preferred.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
    • Ability to operate a forklift and use an electric pallet jack and/or hand jack.
    • Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
    • Ability to work effectively with staff members.
    • Ability to bend, carry 50 pounds, climb, kneel, lift 80 pounds, and push or pull 100 pounds.
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
    • A command of English is required to read and interpret routine information including work schedules, memos, instructions, and communicate with co-workers.
    • Ability to use equipment according to safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • The working environment is in a warehouse, walk-in freezers, and loading dock that requires working with seasonal darkness, dirt, dust, freezer temperatures 20, engine fumes, and machinery noise and vibration.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • Twelve-month year, classified hourly salary schedule, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

    EVALUATION:
    • Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of classified staff.
