Students can earn their RN to BSN, or a masters degree in in nursing with various specializations, or earn a degree in the fields of health care administration or public health.

As a full-time Faculty member, youll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a full-time faculty member with specific expertise in epidemiology, for the Master of Public Health (MPH) program.

This is a full-time, 12-month position, based in Phoenix, AZ, at the rank of Instructor. A remote position may be considered. Target start date is immediate.

Responsibilities of Public Health Faculty

  • Teach epidemiology and other courses in the MPH (and possibly the BS in Public Health-BSPH) program, based on expertise and education, in the online format.
  • Incorporates relevant research resources and experiential activities to support course objectives, lectures, and learning outcomes.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions.
  • Assess student performance.
  • Participate in grading of course-related assignments.
  • Provide mentorship to MPH (and possibly BSPH) students
  • Foster and promote diversity and collegiality among faculty, students, and staff
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the public health professional community to support practicum experiences, project collaborations, and mentoring
  • Stay current on topics and practices related to the discipline
  • Participate in curriculum design & development
  • Active support of college/university mission and initiatives
  • Active participation on college and/or university committees
  • Provide leadership to adjunct faculty
  • Active engagement in professional development activities
  • Comply with all college and University policies
  • Commitment to Christian ideals, philosophy, and direction of the University
  • Willingness to assume other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) degree required
  • Five or more years of applied public health experience
  • Expertise in and ability to teach epidemiology, research methods, and/or other courses
  • Strong interest in teaching online courses
  • Interest in integrating faith into teaching and discipline
  • Commitment to engage in service activities, community outreach and local, regional and national professional organizations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in a health related discipline with an MPH degree.
  • Expertise in and ability to teach epidemiology, research methods, and/or other courses
  • Three or more years of applied public health experience
  • Teaching experience, particularly teaching online, desirable
  • Interest in integrating faith into teaching and discipline
  • Commitment to engage in service activities, community outreach and local, regional and national professional organizations
  • Experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate students in advising, mentoring, and career development
  • Commitment to scholarly development through research, practice and/or teaching
  • Commitment to participate in academic program development and leadership opportunities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
