    Summary:
    The Color Me Smart (CMS) Supervisor is responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate, play based program that supports the concept of educating the whole child through play and expands on social emotional skills. They are also responsible for the day-to-day operation, supervising staff, administrative records and following Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care Rules and Regulations. They are also responsible for the opening or closing of the child care program daily, including direct communication with parents about student progress as well as providing supervision during lunch and recess. This position is the lead in the child care classroom, providing direct supervision of children.

    Responsibilities:
    -Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play based program
    -Engage students in enrichment topics based on student interest
    -Safely and effectively manage the learning environment
    -Responsible for the opening or closing of the child care program daily
    -Complete, manage and maintain, administrative and state required records and reports by adhering to licensing guidelines set by the Colorado Department of Human Services, local County Health Department and School District policies and procedures.
    -Supervise staff by assigning and monitoring workload, training on and specific student or site needs and completing employee performance evaluations
    -Participate in trainings, workshops, in-services, professional learning community meetings for ongoing learning
    -Maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical behavior and professionalism
    -Create positive working relationships with school personnel, parents, and community
    -Utilize computer and software applications (Google) for daily classroom operations
    -Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    -Must currently hold Director for Large Child Care Center certification or have application in process with the Colorado Department of Human Services. Review the CDHS Guidelines to determine how you qualify for this position as there are several ways to qualify. The documentation needs to be uploaded to the online application, not just on a resume, to be considered for interviews.
    -Minimum of one year experience in: Early Childhood/K-2
    -Strong knowledge in Early Childhood Education and best practices including childrens physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development as well as children with special needs
    -Knowledge and skill in classroom management tools, including supporting children with special needs
    -Ability to mentor, communicate orally and written, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse educational backgrounds
    -General knowledge of the State of Colorado Child Care Licensing rules and regulations and county health department guidelines
    -Supervisory and interpersonal skills
    -Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
    -Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
    -Must be able to lift 50 pounds to assist children in toileting along with other delegated health care duties
    -Technology and computer proficiency in multiple software applications(Google)

    Preferred:
    -Minimum of three years experience in an Early Childhood setting
    -Minimum of one year experience in a licensed child care program
    -Supervisory experience over at least one employee
    -Current CPR/First Aid Certification
