Job Description

PBX operators are responsible for answering a high volume of calls, both external and internal, and routing them to the appropriate department while practicing excellent customer service. PBX is also responsible for alerting staff to emergency codes within the hospital and following proper protocol for those codes

Summary:

Operates switchboard console and routes calls to the appropriate person or location. Performs multiple tasks related to business office operations. Responsible for monitoring all fire and gas alarms, generators, blood bank alarms, Women's Center fire alarm and panic alarms. Responsible for all code alarms (Codes Blue, Red, White, Silver, Pink, and Grey, RST, Bat Activation, and Disaster Procedures. Operates public address system, auto-call, or other systems of bells or Ascom phones to call hospital employees and physicians.
