Compliance Administrator -Licensing
Department: Legal/Compliance
Location: Gilbert, AZ

  • Annual Salary: $60-65K **Pay Commensurate with Experience**
  • Significant Experience in navigating and utilizing the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Required

Executive Summary of Position:

The Compliance Administrator - Licensing will oversee and perform licensing tasks as they relate to state and branch licensing needs for Amerifirst Financial, Inc. or DBA, as applicable. This will include obtaining and maintaining state and branch licensing and related tasks as directed by the Compliance Officer and will often include contacting state officials. This position will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for licensing in AFIs Compliance Department and will be conversant with and maintain knowledge of NMLS and applicable state and federal regulations so as to advise on this topic when necessary.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain appropriate state licensing, including obtaining new licenses as required for future expansions.
  • Maintain appropriate branch licensing, including obtaining or surrendering licenses as well as other updates, including, for example, Notice of Change of Address, as required
  • Work with HR and the business to ensure AFI has acceptable designated personnel for licensed locations.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting requirements for states in which AFI is licensed.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Compliance Officer.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report any potential or actual violations of such policies, practices or procedures to Compliance Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Education, Knowledge, skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • 2 or 4-year degree Preferred
  • Significant Experience in navigating and utilizing the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
  • Knowledge in Company and Branch state mortgage licensing
  • Knowledge of required business licenses on a state/county/city/municipal level
  • Surety Bond knowledge/requirements
  • Proficiency using Ellie Mae Encompass
  • System knowledge in Smart Sheets,MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • 4+ Years of experience working in field/similar role/industry, etc.
  • Experience working with loan officers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop working relations with business associates at a positive level
  • Language skill required includes ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Mathematical skill is that of ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Computer skill required is that of basic personal computing including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
