Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of Americas top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Primary Function

The Data Management Analyst - Quality Control Software assists the Compliance department by supporting the Quality Control auditing software. This includes creating new audit scorecards, creating, and maintaining reporting, and working with the vendor as needed ensure system updates are made.

  • Extract, analyze, and review data from various sources for input into Quality Control Software.
  • Create new and maintain existing audits in system.
  • Develop, test, and implement test plans (scorecards) to improve Servicing Quality Control compliance.
  • Perform data insertion and updates within QC Software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to data management processes and QC Software operations.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to identify and resolve data discrepancies and issues.
  • Generate reports and insights from QC Software for management review, external examination requests, Board of Director reporting materials, and other ad hoc data requests.
  • Coordinate with vendor to ensure system updates are properly installed.
  • Stay up to date with the latest features and updates of QC Software to optimize data management processes.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

Required education and experience.

  • Bachelors degree required (e.g., preferably in an analytical discipline, or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience in the mortgage servicing industry or related field.
  • 2-4 years experience working with ACES or equivalent audit management software.
  • 2-4 years data analysis experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience with critical thinking, analyzing, interpreting, and researching information.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Experience communicating with all levels of management.
  • Self-Motivated with strong attention to detail and excellent organizing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team oriented with ability to interact with all levels inside and outside of the organization.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Access, Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SQL, mortgage servicing systems, and tracking software is a plus.
