Job Description

$1250 Hiring Bonus

General Description of Duties:

  • Entry-level computer repair tech role
  • Requires some working knowledge of computer systems
  • Must have at least one (1) IT certification (Google IT Support Professional or CompTIA A ) or applicable IT degree
  • Responsible for physical inspection, cleaning, troubleshooting, testing, and factory reset of computers
  • May involve repairs or replacement of faulty components
  • Refurbishing donated computers for underserved populations
  • Providing computer repair services to the general public
  • Assisting in orientation and training for DiverseIT clientele receiving computers
  • Conducting over-the-phone and in-person instruction
  • Answering questions and tracking trainings in CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Responding to calls, voice messages, and in-person visits
  • Assisting in tracking computer requests, repairs, and follow-ups
  • May require working outside standard work schedules

Education and Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of computer repair experience in IT or related field
  • Possession of at least one (1) IT certification such as Google IT or CompTIA A , or an applicable IT degree
  • Highly preferred: Linux and MAC OS repair experience
  • Required knowledge in advanced computer software applications and basic computer hardware
  • Necessary skills in basic software and hardware troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in effective computer repair practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) in English with internal and external customers of Adelante
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English to understand and interpret written procedures
  • Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms
  • Capability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers
  • Willingness to assist with training new employees
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service

Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid NM drivers license, and proof of auto liability insurance. Must have own reliable transportation and agency insurable driving record. Must be able to occasionally sit, walk, climb and lift up to 50 lbs. Must have the manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to handle small computer parts and repair tools. Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, crouch, kneel, balance, push/pull, and, and carry as required to perform essential job duties. Must have the ability to maintain a harmonious, courteous and considerate relationships, while fostering a collaborative teamwork environment with both agency employees and the public, and to present a friendly, courteous image for the Agency to the general public, customers, and public officials.
