Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a Construction Inspector to work in the Public Works Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in having a direct impact on providing inspections for the Town of Maranas public infrastructure projects. This position provides oversight, field inspections and documentation for parks, water, sewer, transportation, flood control, right-of-way permits and facility construction projects.

Expected Hiring Range: $24.31/hr - $29.78/hr
Salary Range: $24.31/hr - $35.25/hr

Examples of Duties

  • Attends meetings for design recommendations, plan reviews for constructability, potential construction schedules, phasing and sequencing, and project specifications.
  • Conducts worksite inspections and testing;
  • Monitors construction progress and ensure compliance with the contract documents.
  • Investigates and responds to complaints;
  • Conducts data research, compiles data, and prepares the associated reports;
  • Documents construction activities; enters project data into tracking system.
  • Maintains daily records of work performed; maintains as-builts during construction; compiles project reports and post-construction project documentation for approval.
  • Interprets plans and specifications;
  • Reviews contractor submittals, material submittals, tests reports and certifications
  • Oversees and coordinates all quality control testing and safety compliance for projects and permits.
Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training
  • Over three years in civil engineering design, construction or a related field
  • Valid Arizona Driver License
  • Pre-employment physical
  • Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
