OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

The primary responsibility of your job position is for the full range leadership of internal accounting and business office functions following current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and assisted living facilities. Preparation of timely monthly financial statements, including cash flow and disclosures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares monthly financial statements, including at a minimum, income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flows and related quantitative analyses.

  • Reconciles income statement and balance sheet accounts.

  • Coordinates with client facilities regarding the timing and flow of documentation supporting monthly financial statement preparation.

  • Reviews source documents, source journals, and manual schedules submitted by the facilities as the basis for financial statements.

  • Prepares journal entries and supporting explanations for financial statement adjustments and performs related data entry.

  • Reviews or prepares cash and other reconciliations.

  • Communicates with facilities regarding financial results and budget variances.

  • Provides financial statement audit and tax support.

  • Prepares and monitoring of budgets.

  • Provide cash management support.

  • Supports and collaborates with other members of the Finance and Consulting Teams.

  • Assists the Director of Accounting with special audits and projects.

  • May participate on special committees and task forces.

  • Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity.

  • Maintains confidentiality and rights of resident, family, employee, and facility information in compliance with HIPAA policies and other applicable regulations.

  • Maintains safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.

  • Performs all other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manage tight deadlines and meet the demands of reporting each month, quarterly and annually

  • Knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to IRS, Department of Labor

  • Communicate policies, procedures, regulations, reports, etc., to owners and staff

  • Knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment as well as Microsoft Excel

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements but must be knowledgeable in GAAP

  • CPA license or Masters of Accounting preferred


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in full cycle accounting and financial reporting

  • Knowledge of/background pertaining to Independent Living/Assisted Living accounting
