This Cook position is located in our Nutrition Services Department. Come work in our large commercial kitchen!

Hours:

This is a 40 hour per week benefited position, Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 7:30pm.

Starting Salary:

$22.86 - $31.53/hr and up, Rate of pay quoted is for less than one year up to 30 years of experience. The higher rate of pay is for more years of experience. PLUS shift differentials where applicable.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and serve nutritionally adequate and culturally acceptable food for patients, employees, visitors and special hospital events.
• Have a knowledge of standard recipes & culinary techniques, and the ability to create recipes.
• Have a history of following standardized recipes and batch food production as well as basic understanding of nutrition with emphasis in therapeutic diets.
• Have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Have the ability to operate all equipment within the dietary department.

What you'll need:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Preferred but not required: Completion in a course of study in culinary arts, or a formal apprenticeship program, and 2 years experience in commercial food production.
• Obtain an Alaska Food Worker's Card within 30 days of hire.
