Position Description

Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions

• Responsible for receiving, processing and scheduling the department's external referrals
• Maintain referral log, distribution of referral packages and scheduling as needed
• Assist with Worker's Compensation referrals and authorization as needed
• Maintain knowledge of scheduling protocol and insurance requirements
• Serve as back up to the insurance verification managed care coordinator and counsel patients on insurance benefits when needed
• Educate PSS, nurse and providers on insurance benefits and funding for referred patients when necessary
