Job Description:

Under the direction of the Media Relations and Marketing Manager, this position will perform duties coordinating special events, and alumni relations. They will assist with marketing, and community outreach functions of the School, identify information needs and developing content to fill these, ensuring timely posting of news and events, and ensuring continuous improvement of the school's e-strategies.


Salary: max 65,000 per year


Essential Duties:

Alumni:

·       Coordinate work plans to increase alumni participation in SESE activities, foster relationships, provide assistance, help create meaningful, long-term alumni connections with SESE and increase volunteer participation and contributions.

·       Collaborates with The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the ASU Alumni Association to maintain SESE alumni data.

·       Coordinates alumni communications, arranges and conducts interviews with alumni; assists with writing and editing articles for alumni publications.

·       Other duties as assigned


Special Events:

·       Coordinates public events such as lecture series, academic events, campus-wide events, etc., involving SESE including logistics, registration, attendees tracking, presentation, and material support. 

·       Assists in coordinating requests for visits and tours (VIP visitors, industry, etc.).

·       Coordinates pre- and post-event evaluations.

·       Assists in the development of new event opportunities.

·       Assists in marketing and publicizing of events.

·       Other duties are assigned


Marketing/Community Outreach:

·       Assists in strategic planning and overall marketing activities for SESE.

·       Assists with SESE social media activities and platforms.

·       Assists in updating, purchasing and production of SESE marketing materials.

·       Assists with SESE monthly newsletter

·       Other duties are assigned


Desired Qualifications:

·       Experience in event coordination and project management experience.

·       Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, working effectively and efficiently with individuals and teams within a diverse environment.

·       Experience in quickly assessing appropriate responses to unforeseen events while ensuring seamless execution.

·       Experience with the principles and techniques of development and fundraising, preferably in higher education.

·       Experience in writing, editing, and other aspects of media publication including composing, editing and proofreading written materials.

·       Experience with social media platforms and effective campaign execution. Experience with website content management platforms.

·       Evidence of effective customer service and interpersonal skills.

·       Experience in work that requires organizational skills and attention to detail.


Working Environment:

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting, subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Evidence of effective communication skills.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
