Job Description:

The Corporate Giving Manager will manage BCBSAZ corporate giving activities. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Foundation Operations and Community Engagement, the Manager is accountable for facilitating the development and execution of corporate giving strategies and initiatives to achieve business goals related to BCBSAZs corporate social responsibility efforts and philanthropic investment in the community. Responsible for providing guidance and direction to senior leaders and cross-functional team members, as required, in support of BCBSAZ corporate giving strategy. Provide business expertise needed to set planning priorities as well as develop and execute implementation approach. This role also supports Foundation-related operational activities.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain positive business and professional relationships within the corporation and the community. Promote the Companys reputation as a local, not for profit entity to enhance the brand value throughout Arizona.
  • Lead initiatives that demonstrates BCBSAZs commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion including the Empowering Diversity Scholarship.
  • Develop an annual corporate giving plan that outlines approach and giving strategy for BCBSAZ community funding, including fulfilling corporate donor and sponsor benefits, managing recognition, conducting stewardship activities, the managing renewals process, and collaborating with other members of the Health Advancement team.
  • Serve as lead reviewer and coordinate initial prep for corporate giving efforts.
  • Serve as a contact for and liaison between BCBSAZ and civic / charitable organizations in Arizona.
  • Create and nurture BCBSAZ corporate giving opportunities to maximize BCBSAZs visibility and image in Arizona while aligning with BCBSAZ strategy and delivering measurable impacts to communities throughout Arizona.
  • Work with BCBSAZ business segments to establish, where practical, relationships with strategic community partners.
  • Lead design and implementation of appropriate tracking and reporting systems. Maintain the corporate giving database and identify opportunities to strengthen processes related to and use of corporate giving database.
  • Analyze complex data and prepare insights and reports, including annual reports, for executive management and other key internal partners to provide transparency on community events and corporate giving.
  • Successfully manage and report on annual corporate giving budget. Regularly monitor and adhere to standard accounting practices and process outlined by Finance.
  • Lead the assignment and development of request briefs and funding recommendations for the BCBSAZ Corporate Contributions Committee.
  • Monitor quality performance measures, develop and maintain effective workflows, and seek to maximize system efficiencies, leading change where needed.
  • Maintain effective working relationships to ensure teamwork in achieving corporate goals.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities and contribute to departmental and cross-functional teams to achieve BCBSAZ goals and ensure future success.
  • Coordinate activities between multiple divisions to achieve desired results.
  • Maintain a calendar of due dates for funding requests, reports, other deliverables/benefits, and donor engagement.
  • Draft grant/sponsorship proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant/sponsorship reports.
  • Draft communications to corporate donors, including email updates, notifications, and invitations.
  • Assist the Senior Manager of Foundation and Community Engagement with the implementation of event strategies, preparation for in-person and virtual events, and day-of-event responsibilities.
  • Conduct prospect and donor research, including creating event "look books."
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team to develop and implement accurate and effective donor communications, such as solicitation and stewardship materials
  • Stay up to date on trends and best practices in corporate fundraising and special events.
  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience

  • 5 years of experience in healthcare-related corporate giving, communications, event planning, and/or project management
  • 3 years of experience in developing short- and long-range strategic plans, forecasting, and budgeting

  • 7 years of experience in healthcare-related corporate relations, communications, event planning and/or project management
