Jr Cost Accountant
Applies principles of accounting to conduct studies which provide detailed cost information, analysis of cost elements and accuracy of product costing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? Reviews and analyzes daily transaction logs. Addresses errors and resolves with appropriate staff.
? Reviews and maintains standard costs to ensure all inventory items including co-packers have standard cost in place and sets up standard cost on new items.
? Analyzes material usage, price, and configuration variances and makes recommendations to improve and/or minimize such variances.
? Prepares standard cost element summary for TP approval.
? Performs an analysis of accounts whenever necessary.
? Reviews items with no cost and updates cost.
? Reviews and assigns proper product class and category.
? Reviews and closes discreet jobs monthly.
? Assists in the preparation of schedules and statements required by external auditors. ? Assists in the preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies.
? Assists with fixed assets control
? Attends other matters which the Sr Cost Accountant or Finance Analyst/Accounting manager may assign from time to time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) major in Accounting from four year college or university and three years related experience and/or training.
Compensation: $65K
