ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Works closely with the judges related to court operations and maintaining the court
calendar.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Court Administrator provides highly complex administrative and supervisory work related to the daily
operations of the Gila River Indian Community Tribal Courts under the general direction of the Chief J udge. The
position is responsible for monitoring the performance of all divisions within the Community Court to ensure
achievement of the departments established goals, and compliance with Judicial policy and procedures. This
position executes any and all executive and administrative duties including, but not limited to case management,
record management, fiscal management, statistical analysis, projections, court security, and personnel
management. This position provides exceptional interpersonal and problem solving skills as well as considerable
initiative and independent judgement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
0 Perform full administrative responsibilities in development, implementation, evaluation of planning, fiscal
management, policies and procedures affecting employees of the Judicial Department.
0 Supervise, review and enforce administrative and disciplinary actions in consultation with Human Resources
Department; prepare, sign, and discuss work performance evaluations; and decisions to hire.
0 Prepare a variety of reports, and correspondence to other Directors, internal and external stakeholders in order
to attain departmental objectives.
0 Meet regularly with management staff to communicate, coordinate, plan and distribute task assignments,
functions, activities, and to discuss departmental issues and concerns.
0 Attend meetings on behalf of the Chief Judge regarding Judicial with the Community, Standing Committees,
and Community Council when designated.
0 Prepare and monitor the department budget to ensure expenditures are Within approved funding, process
financial expenditures, and ensure expenditures are paid in a timely manner.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Tribal laws, rules, regulations titles and ordinances.Knowledge of judicial administration, case ?ow, calendar scheduling methods; jury and facilities
management including courtroom security.Knowledge of judicial and legal practices and procedures.Knowledge of personnel management.Knowledge of planning, research methods, data review, and techniques for judicial reporting.Working knowledge of computer operation and software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an
advanced level.Knowledge of budgeting and reporting systems, financial controls, funding sources, program analysis,
performance measures, grant requirements, and grant writing process.Must be a person will high integrity, honesty and display professional decorum.Possess excellent leadership and supervisory skills with ability to effectively perform a broad range of
supervisory responsibilities over others.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.Skill in organization development, team building, planning, and decision-making.Ability to apply critical thinking and utilize effective communication and problem solving skills.Ability to use a high degree of independent judgment and personal initiative to develop integrated strategies
to be ef?ciently identify issues, concerns and interests and provide effective solutions.Ability to evaluate, develop, and implement programs and services in the court setting.Ability to make presentations to employees, judges, attorneys, representatives of agencies, and the public;
conduct conferences and meetings.Ability to observe the strict confidential nature of court records and proceedings.Ability to effectively plan, implement, and monitor goals, objectives, priorities, policies, standards, and
guidelines.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials
and the general public.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration,
Law, Criminal Justice or closely related field, and a minimum of six (6) years progressively responsible
experience in administration and management in a court and which includes two (2) years supervisory experience.Tribal court administration experience is preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required to pass a background check.Prospective employees shall not possess the following background:1. Any felony conviction in any jurisdiction2. Any misdemeanor conviction in any jurisdiction within the last five (5) years.3. Any misdemeanor conviction in any jurisdiction within the last seven (7) years that involved a dishonest
act or false statement, e.g., fraud, theft, perjury; or a crime against a vulnerable individual.Subject to review as to con?icts of interest and shall abide by the Code of Ethics for Judicial Employees.Required to obtain a Tribal Driving permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of drivingrecord for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of drivingrecord must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date ofsubmission of the application.Supervisory, Salaried Position
