DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Prosecutors Criminal Analyst & Investigator Supervisor supervises and manages the activities of the
Investigative Division of the Office of the Prosecutor through the development and implementation of goals,
objectives, policies and procedures to establish how investigations are conducted. Supervise investigative staff
including: selection of staff, training in proper work methods and techniques, ensuring proper certification of
investigative staff, assignment and review of work, performance evaluations, and implementation of discipline
and con?ict resolution processes. The Prosecutors Criminal Analyst & Investigator Supervisor will be the
Security System Officer and oversee the Terminal Operator CertificationsNalidations (TOC) through Arizona
Criminal Justice Information Systems (ACJIS). The Prosecutors Criminal Analyst & Investigator Supervisor
reviews investigation requests made by attorneys and stakeholders; assigns and discusses request with
Investigator; reviews and discusses the progress of the investigation with attorney/requester. The Prosecutors
Criminal Analyst & Investigator Supervisor provides accurate and timely crime and intelligence information in
support of operations, criminal investigations, crime prevention, and administrative functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


- Coordinate investigations with and act as a lead liaison to representatives of Tribal, Federal, State, County,
and Local law enforcement agencies and the Office of the Prosecutor staff to stay informed, avoid duplication,
and facilitate successful case preparation and presentation.

- Supervise the research and analyze criminal intelligence data in response to requests for assistance in solving
crimes. Analyze daily criminal activity reports to identify methods of operation, trends, and possible suspects
to assist law enforcement personnel to solve or prevent crimes. Maintain files and history of crime-related
statistics, analysis, trends, graphs, charts, or other information related to the Units work.
0 Updates computerized crime data files to maintain the latest information on possible suspects, organized
criminals, subversive organizations, and known career criminals. Prepare and distribute current criminal
intelligence information reports to internal staff and other agencies to keep them apprised of current
information. Perform complex statistical and analytical research such as random sampling and correlation and
regression analysis, generate reports based on their research, and be highly proficient in technical writing.
Compiles reports on the results.Assesses the collection, collation, and analysis of raw data extracted from numerous law enforcement data
sources and translates into viable criminal intelligence for investigative, preventive and operational purposes.
Develops suspect/offender profiles through research and analysis of events, locations, vehicles, physical
descriptions, tattoos, monikers, known associates, phone numbers, and modus operandi. Correlates suspect,
probation, parolee, gang affiliation, and other known offenders to criminal activity.Conducts Employment background checks and adjudications for the Office of the Prosecutor employees.
Develops and reviews goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the Investigative Division. Ensures
compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulations through the Gila River Indian Community
Office of the Prosecutor, Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZPDS) and Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI). Develops and administers additional training as needed.Supervises the oversight and audits of electronic equipment and research data. Reviews police reports,
investigative reports, medical records, financial records, criminal histories, court documents, and other similar
information related to investigations being performed.Identifies problems, analyzes alternatives, and make viable recommendations.Supervise and perform the research, gathering, organizing, and analyzing of data and information from various
sources drawing logical conclusions, especially dealing with criminal information and intelligence.
Supervise the analytical assignments to case investigations and/or requests for assistance by prioritizing the
collection of data, monitoring progress and work products, making recommendations and projecting workload
to ensure accountability, quality control and timely coordination of projects and cases.Oversee the section of resources to include; training and procurement requests, hardware, software, and
personnel needs; provides appropriate documentation for executive staff to justify resource needs.
Participates as an executive staff member, attends staff meetings, law enforcement briefings, intelligence
sharing forums, and citizen/community meetings to gather and provide information related to crime patterns,
trends, and problem offenders within the Community.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:Ability to establish goals and priorities of unit with higher level management.Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures necessary to achieve goals.Ability to conduct ongoing assessment of units performance through analysis of policy compliance and
production.Ability to monitor budget, approve expenditures, and prioritize needs for higher level management to make
decisions for next biennial budget.Ability to submit formal recommendations to superior concerning budget needs.Ability to facilitate the resolution of jurisdictional disputes encountered during course of investigations.
Ability to review and prioritize all investigative cases prior to assigning to subordinate staff.Ability to provide technical assistance to staff in investigative matters.Ability to review reports of completed investigations to ensure completeness and compliance with governing
statutes, rules of evidence and suspects rights, and agency regulations.Ability to plan, assign, and review work of assigned staff.Ability to adjust work assignments and schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels and respond to
?uctuating workloads.Ability to evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.Ability to assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.Ability to review applicant credentials, participates in the interview process, and hires or effectively
recommends hiring of staff.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Police Science, Law Enforcement,
or closely related field and a minimum of six (6) years experience as a commissioned police of?cer, to include
a minimum of three (3) years experience in criminal investigations; or any combination of education, training,and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position; and to include two (2)
years of supervisory experience.ADDITIONAL RE! )UIREMENT:

- Must obtain ACJ IS Terminal Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion and
maintain certification throughout course of this assignment and the ability to obtain and maintain a security
Clearance.

continue to maintain throughout duration of employment.
0 Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving
record must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of
