Critical Care Nurse PRN

Under general direction, the Critical Care Nurse provides critical care for the Institutes large animal population following established techniques and procedures. The Critical Care Nurse will collect and process sample as well as administer agents to research animals as IACUC approved studies require, and perform all related duties and tasks as required or assigned. Individual will be required to work with biological samples such as blood, serum, plasma and urine.

This is a PRN or as needed position and is not eligible for benefits.

Requires a bachelors degree in nursing and at least 1 year experience working in a critical care unit; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.

Must have the ability to follow and enforce safety procedures as well as the ability to successfully perform a variety of routine laboratory procedures within project deadlines.

Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Preferred computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
