Our Curation team is on a mission to better facilitate this through the curation of the best, most relevant, and timely content that reaches, engages and delights one of the largest daily audiences in the world.

The Curation team contextualizes topics of interest including Breaking News, Politics, Entertainment, and Sports, and were looking for a skilled Curator to help us identify the best Tweets, photos, and videos in real-time around those topics.

The ideal candidate for this role should also have a deep, non-partisan, understanding of politics and feel comfortable fact-checking content related to politics, social justice or health. In addition to curation, members of this team work collaboratively and are encouraged to support curation and projects of other verticals including Entertainment and Sports.

Our Curation team works hard to present and reflect outstanding content experiences and conversations in real-time to Twitter users.

Job Description

Core skills:

  • Identifying the best conversations and events on Twitter

  • Effective verbal and written communication. Can present to broader team on specific projects

  • A basic understanding of "content quality" and the data and Curation Standards by which we might judge and measure that within a product surface

  • Is able to prioritize work effectively, with time pressure

  • Is capable of, and receptive to, giving and receiving constructive feedback

Responsibilities:

  • Curate live updates around various topics and events across News, Entertainment and Sports for Twitter customers

  • Weave together stories from sequences of Tweets

  • Identify events and emerging trends on Twitter that will drive unique content experiences

  • Work cross-collaboratively with teammates and internal partners to create strategies for key events in the Pacific time zone

Qualifications
  • Work experience: Proven ability working in the field of journalism

  • Extensive experience using Twitter as a discovery tool, with familiarity of the various communities on the platform

  • Deep knowledge of high-quality, unbiased reporting

  • Experience curating content (Tweets) in real-time or for publishing

  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends

  • Experience with news gathering tools like Tweetdeck, Dataminr for News, etc preferred but not required.
