Custodian

Custodian $12.15 - $13.50 per hour (depending on experience). This is a full time position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance). This position is a traditional school year position (10.5 month). Custodial/cleaning experience is required; qualified candidate will also be required to operate heavy machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to lift heavy objects.
2. Previous experience as a custodian.
3. Ability to work without supervision.
4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with associates.
5. Minor maintenance experience in electrical, mechanical, building and outside yard work.
6. Good physical health.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Night Lead Custodian, is responsible in cleaning the physical plant, classrooms and other areas. Responsible for minor maintenance to the building as related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and equipment maintenance.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Performs scheduled housekeeping duties as required.
• Assume specific housekeeping duties such as:

1. a) Vacuuming and cleaning
2. b) Dust mopping
3. c) Dusting
4. d) Wet mopping
5. e) Cleaning glass
6. f) Washing and cleaning exterior walkways
7. g) Waxing
8. h) Buffing
9. i) Painting
10. j) Stripping
11. k) Shampooing

• Carry out other related custodial duties.
• Any other duties deemed necessary by the Facilities Manager or the Business Manager.

This position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Governing Boards policy on evaluation of the Classified personnel.
