Overall Job Objective

Summary

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine custodial tasks within an assigned area.

Minimum Qualifications

No specific education or experience required. The ideal candidate will have some experience cleaning and performing minor maintenance work. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be able to meet the Community's insurance carrier requirements. Must successfully complete and pass a background check.

  • Cleans the kitchen room area; including cleaning sink, wiping down the counters, sweeping/mopping floor, washing and putting away any dishes (including coffee pots) and cleaning out microwave and refrigerator when needed.
  • Vacuums carpeted areas daily and cleans carpet stains if necessary.
  • Moves light equipment and other items on the floor and vacuums under them monthly.
  • Sweeps and mops uncarpeted areas daily.
  • Cleans office areas and wipes down white side panels of cubical walls.
  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms daily (including: toilets, sinks, mirrors and handrails) and re-fills hand soap, towels, toilet paper and tissue.
  • Dusts and polishes furniture (including: windowsills, filing cabinets, printer/fax machine stands, top panels of cubicles, artificial plants).
  • Cleans windows (including all cubical glass) and screens.
  • Empties all trash cans within the building/trailers daily, disposes of any large items, and picks up trash and debris (i.e., boxes, paper or bags) from outside building.
  • Replaces air fresheners as needed.
  • Sweeps sidewalks, paths, and doorways.
  • Operates equipment/tools and uses chemicals/cleaning agents in compliance with established safety policies/procedures.
  • Inventories cleaning supplies and notifies office personnel of needed supplies, sorts supply order when delivered, and distributes to appropriate personnel or stock on shelves.
  • Performs minor maintenance duties, including replacing light bulbs and air filters.
  • Sets up conference room for meetings/events as requested.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Other Requirements

  • Knowledge of the methods, practices and techniques used in the operation of the equipment utilized.
  • Knowledge of the safe handling of a variety of hazardous materials/supplies used for sanitizing, cleaning and/or disinfecting.
  • Knowledge of the proper methods and practices for cleaning a variety of surfaces in accordance with established health regulations.
  • Knowledge of techniques for safe lifting and carrying.
  • Skill in performing a variety of general custodial and minor maintenance activities.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Skill in reading and understanding printed label instructions and/or guidelines.
  • Skill in following oral and/or written instructions, policies and procedures.
