Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

Responsible for the provision of analytical support of data generated by the department. This position will assist in creating, designing and implementing processes to ensure accurate data collection and input. The Data Analyst position will assist with maintenance of department database and on-going training of end users. This position is responsible for gathering, analyzing and reporting statistical information and patient outcomes, which may include statistical power and sample size determination, inferential hypothesis testing, algorithm development and numerical methods, data mining and knowledge discovery in databases. Reporting duties for the Data Analyst position will involve the provision of monthly departmental reports and ensuring timely regulatory reporting completion. Additional responsibilities for this position include making recommendations for the implementation of technology and processes required to support the goals of the department with emphasis on regulatory compliance. The Data Analyst position will complete other data requests. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Performs other duties as assigned to support cost, access, and quality initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Healthcare Administration with a heavy emphasis on Health Informatics

Work Experience: Two (2) Years Work Experience with reporting and analytics with data analysis, extraction, and manipulation of health informatics.
Training/experience with databases (SQL Server or MS Access) and reporting (Excel) required. Expert in MS Office components including Word and Excel. Designing reports. Experience with SharePoint and Epic a plus. Experience in a healthcare delivery or healthcare business setting preferred.

Proficiencies: MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Personal Computer
