Salary/ Hourly Rate: $14.71 - $18.39 Hourly

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for data input and the generation of various alpha and numerical reports;
performs moderately difficult tasks through automation system; for varied clerical and typing work following
established procedures and works independently on routine and familiar task. Instructions are received through
on-going progress and results achieved.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
0 Type from rough draft to produce final copies with few errors and to edit punctuation, spelling and grammar.
0 Use spreadsheets and database software to record, tabulate, and make computations; print tables of alpha and
numerical information.
0 Make routine arithmetic calculations accurately; compute data using multiplication, division, addition,
subtraction; and calculate percentages.o Compile reports of activities by using standard procedures for reporting; print reports (i.e. voucher/purchase
order listings, budget accounts, residential listings, etc.) as requested.
0 Compile and record cost and other accounting data to provide accurate financial records.
0 Proofread documents to ensure accuracy of records or data entry by comparing draft to final version and/or
verifying correct entry of names, numbers, etc.
0 Maintain and update existing filing system as needed to provide easy access to financial records or residential
records with little or no direction from supervisor.
0 Answer inquiries, provide information, take messages, and interact with people.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:0 Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database software, including Word and ExcelKnowledge of business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.Working knowledge of record keeping practices and procedures.Working knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment.Ability to calculate solutions to mathematical problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and
division.Ability to operate a computer using existing operational software.Ability to proofread numerical and text data.Ability to follow verbal and written direction/instruction and exercise good judgment.Ability to organize work with little or no supervision.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials
and the public.
0 Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or GED and a minimum of three (3) years experience in data entry with six (6) months
experience using word processing and spreadsheet software; or any combination of education, training, or
experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.ADDITIONAL RE! QUIREMENTS:

- Required to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance as a condition of employment and must
continue to maintain throughout duration of employment. Background checks are required for positions that
involve regular contact with or control over Community Children in accordance with The Indian Child
Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, 25 U.S. C. Sections 3201 through 3210 and C.F.R. Part 63
and positions that have regular contact with the Elderly.
