The Ratings Process and Data team drives data and process design and change management for scalable digitization across critical business initiatives including workflows, analytics and ESG services. The group works collectively with stakeholders in other lines of business, Product Management, User Experience designers, developers, control functions and others to document current state processes, define critical requirements for improvement, identify and map required data elements and lead simplification initiatives. The group works in an Agile, product-centric operating model that delivers digital solutions and incremental improvements to process, data, and user tools.
As part of Moodys Investors Service (MIS), our Ratings Platform Development team leads the design and adoption of new processes and data workflows that enable digital transformation and scalability across the organization globally.
We are hiring a Data Management Associate to assist in data improvement initiatives across the organization. They will work closely with cross-functional teams and data managers that adopt Agile operating methods. They will support the creation of data lineage flows, participate in designing databases and data taxonomies, help define data elements and data concepts for end-users, be involved with rationalizing database content and supporting data migration into a modern, cloud-based data infrastructure and establish a data storage plan. They will support multi-year initiatives to transform Ratings and Researchs (R&R) work processes to support digitization and adoption of generative AI technologies. These include the full range of workflow, rating and research, ESG and other activities. These initiatives are directly tied to firm-wide objectives.
The Data Management Associate role will assist in defining and curating the data used across several product workflows, acting with support from data team members. Core accountabilities include:
- Investigate and analyse data taxonomies and data attributes for key workflow data sets to support digital solutions
- Assist in developing an initial set of harmonized data requirements contributing to efficiency and quality enhancements
- Participate in the definition of data concepts, common reference data and establish sound data usage practices with relevant partners
- Support Data Migration activities and establishing data governance practices
- Identify and assess a new and/or third party data source for use within a business workflow
- Support senior data managers to engage across key MIS partners to determine the data required to deliver the target state service solution, and map the end-to-end data lineage
- Cleanse, validate and migrate data elements from legacy databases to modern data infrastructure
- Monitor key performance indicators related to key data processes and data quality, and monitor and report on observed process performance including to suggest data improvements
- Challenge the status quo and provide an innovative way of thinking for out-of-the-box data solutions, data performance metrics and new or third-party data sources
- Work in Agile pods to define business data requirements for digital technology solutions, identify any opportunities to improve and re-develop technology solutions with Product Owners
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Digital Rating Platform (DRP)
Qualifications:
- 2+ year of demonstrable experience in data management and data transformation roles
- Experience using Master Data Management and Data Governance tools such as SQL, dBeaver, Access, Collibra
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of database structures, data lineage mapping, data governance reporting
- Experience working with unstructured data
- Experience working with customers and/or users to understand data requirements and use cases
- Proficient communication skills to simplify complex themes
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $71K - $90K, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
