MISSION STATEMENT

 The Salvation Army is looking to fill a Data Specialist position on the SSVF team. The successful candidate for this position will have a proficiency in Microsoft Office Software, the ability to perform arithmetic, strong verbal and written skills.

The Data Specialist will complete all SSVF check and purchase requests, maintaining files/databases for all invoices, check requests, and grant documents. This position will complete accurate and timely data entry into the HMIS system, completing data quality checks by running reports. This employee will also assist the Veteran Services Coordinator with filing as well as grant renewals and submissions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree preferred. Minimum two years of related experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must have the ability to understand numbers and perform arithmetic.
  • Experience working with agencies that serve vulnerable populations preferred.
  • Experience working with homeless and/or at-risk veterans preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of residents, staff and community partners.
  • Must have a valid Driver License, clean driving record and own registered and insured vehicle for client visits. Mileage reimbursement will be provided and company vehicle will be available for any transporting of clients. 
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
