LOCATION: The Salvation Army – Globe Service Center – (Globe, AZ)

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Service Center Coordinator

STATUS: PT 29 hrs/wk

The Salvation Army Globe Service Center is looking to fill a Day Care Center Aide position. The Daycare Aide will assist in the Pre-School and Child Care center, monitoring the children enrolled in the Daycare Center programs and planning and implementing weekly activities. They will assist other staff in caring for the children in all aspects of daily activities keeping the area free of any hazards and maintaining cleanliness of the facility. This position will attend prescribed Day Care Provider state standards and requirements as well as maintaining Protect the Mission policies and protocols at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must have 60 hours of documented work experience in early childhood education.
• 12 months of Child Care qualifying experience.
• CPR / First Aide training will be required within 30 days.
• Must be able to get a food handler’s card including a TB test within 30 days.
• Must pass a background check
• Must be able to pass a DES background check to secure a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Maintain 18 hours training hours per year as required.

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
