Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH
The Dietetic Medical Assistant works with a team of healthcare professionals performing clerical and patient care activities that correspond to the demand of the specialty clinic. The Dietetic Medical Assistant practices under the medical supervision of a licensed physician or licensed nurse such as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). He/She will perform duties within his/her individual scope of practice and demonstrated competence, and in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined by Correctional Health division of Harris Health System. Productivity standards and practices, effective time management to prioritize tasks are responsibilities. He/she also participates in compliance and quality performance improvement efforts to ensure care provided is safe and effective.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees: High School Diploma or GED
Licenses & Certifications:
CAAHEP or ABHES; Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accredited facility
Work Experience: One (1) Year Work ExperienceDietetics/Nutrition.
Communication Skills: Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/ Correspondence, Writing/ Reports
Proficiencies: MS Excel, MS Word, P.C.
